Description:
This project aimed at providing support to the National Authorising Officer and the Delegation of the European Commission to Mali in the run-up to the Country Strategy Paper and National Indicative Programme for the period 2008-2013 covered by the 10th EDF.
This work implied:
• Assessing the current situation in Mali and the earlier achievements of the EC-Mali cooperation;
• Analysing the development and poverty reduction strategy of the Mali government, the constraints it faces, and the actions implemented or programmed by the country's other technical and financial partners;
• Organising a dialogue between all stakeholders in the European Commission – Mali cooperation;
• Providing strategic support to the policy makers as regards the selection of focus sectors of aid and the allocation of the 10th EDF financial envelope.
The following services were provided:
* Analyse the current economic, social and political situation in Mali; Assess the European Commission cooperation with Mali; Map donors interventions in Mali; Organise a dialogue between all stakeholders in the EC-Mali cooperation process; Identify focus sectors for future EC interventions; Propose a distribution between sectors of the 10th EDF envelope. |
