In November 2006, ADE created the Network of Macro-economists for Aid and Development Economics (
), bringing together permanent ADE staff and top-level experts in the fields of public finance, macroeconomic and sectoral policies. These experts share the same vision of the role and commitment of consultants towards their clients. The network facilitates the elaboration of cutting-edge approaches and instruments, the delivery of services of the highest possible quality and the accumulation of technical competencies.
The main event of the network is a one day workshop organised every year to capitalise the experience and to think towards innovative approaches and instruments. Various themes have been addressed in the last years:
- The Evaluation of Budget Support programmes (View related document)
- Budget Support: Potential and limits of the instrument for supporting reforms/policies (View related document)
- The implementation conditions of result-oriented and program-approach based PFM reforms (View related document)
- PFM reforms and the PEFA Performance Measurement framework (View related document)
These workshops give the participants a chance to examine hot topics in the field of macroeconomic support and aid modalities. The members of Nomade are priority participants but the workshop is also open to other interested experts who send their application.
NOMADE’s workshop 2011: Current issues and future approach of Budget Support
In December 2011, the workshop gathered 25 macroeconomist experts and some donors representatives. We discussed the main challenges of Budget support with presentations of expert’s experience. It was followed by a presentation of past and future practices in delivering BS of the Belgian and French Development Agencies. A representative from the EC developed afterwards the future approach of the EU regarding BS to third countries.
